Navigating the CMS
After you've logged in you will be taken to your website's dashboard. The left hand column is where you can find all of the content collections within your website:
Inbox This is where you can manage form submissions that customers have submited on your website. You can mark messages as spam to help train the spam AI. Form submissions are also sent to your specified email address which is a more useful method of receiving messages.
Publish This is where you go to publish all recent changes to the live website. New edits and changes won't take effect until you publish them to the live website
Website Settings This is where you can adjust theme settings (if you're using a template) and other website functionality such as the main navigation, footer text etc.
All other sections below are 'Collections'. These collections are categorised so you can easily manage your website. "Web Pages' is where you can edit the main pages for your website. To make changes, click on the relevant collection, then select the page that you wish to edit. Doing this will open the page editor.
Editing a Page
Once you've opened the page editor you can navigate your website withing the preview area. As you scroll you will notice that components are outlined in a yellow border. You can click on these to bring up a window to edit the content within them. You can also use the panel to the left of the screen and navigate through the page sections to find the relevant component/section you wish to change.
When you've finished making changes, click the Save button at the top right of the window. Your website will then rebuild and the changes will appear within the preview area.
Managing Page Components
Page Components are only available on Template Subscriptions
Once you've opened the page editor, you will see a panel to the left of the screen. Here you will see options to create, or edit page sections. If you want to add a new component you need to either open an existing page section or create a new one. Click the relevant page section and you will see an option to Add Component. Clicking this will bring up a the component library where you can select the desired component.
Once you've added the component your content can be added into the panel on the left hand side of the page. Once you're happy with the new component's content, click the Save button at the top right corner of the window. After saving your changes the website will rebuild and the new component will appear.
If you need to remove a component you can click on the dotted options button to the right of the component (within the relevant page section view). A menu will pop out with an option to remove the component.
After making changes to a page you need to save them before they appear in the preview area. Click the Save button at the top right of the window, then your website will rebuild and the changes will appear within the preview area.
The website you're editing within the CMS is a draft version of your live website. When you're happy with all of the changes you've made across your website you need to publish them to your live website.
Go to your website's dashboard then click on the 'Publish' section. You will see a list of recent changes and a 'Publish' button. Clicking the 'Publish' button will confirm that you want to publish all changes to the live website - you will need to click it twice. Once you publish your changes, your live website will rebuild with the new content and you should see your changes within 1-4 minutes at maximum.
